The Lee County Library System site has been enhanced to make it easier for patrons with screen readers to browse and check out items. On this page, you will find all the information needed to get started!

Software

There are two pieces of software that you need in order to be able to enjoy our digital content.

The first software application you need is the OverDrive Media Console which is a free, fully integrated, and easy-to-use application that handles all aspects of your download media experience. To download OverDrive Media Console immediately, click here, or to review OverDrive Media Console system requirements and installation instructions prior to downloading, click here.

The second software application that you need is Windows Media Player (version 9 or higher) which is pre-installed on most Windows-based computers. To download Windows Media Player if you do not already have it, click here. In addition to links that you can use to download Windows Media Player, this page includes system requirement information.

After both programs are installed, you will need to perform a one time security upgrade. For instructions on performing the Windows Media Player Security Upgrade, click here.

Browse, checkout and download content

You can browse or search this site for downloadable materials. When you locate a title of interest, simply add it to your cart and check out the title. For more information on the checkout process, click here.

If a desired title is not available, you may place a hold on the title. For more information on placing a title on hold, click here.

Once you have checked out a title, a download page will be displayed. Click the 'Download' link to start the download. Once the download is complete, you can close your Internet connection and enjoy the materials offline.

You will never accrue late fees with titles you download from this website. At the end of the loan period, titles will expire and be automatically 'returned' to the library. At this time, you can delete the expired file(s) from your machine.
